Who We Are and What We Do
br

Come as a student, leave as a leader.
- UH IEEE Statement

The University of Houston branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers serves its members by providing networks and other various services that will help to increase students' ability to excel in academics and their profession.

Through our organization the members are provided old tests to use as a studying guide and to get a feel for the material being studied. We provide study rooms open 24 hours so that they do not have to go searching through the library waiting for a study room. The members also have access to computer labs and a circuits laboratory with fully functional equipment.

In joining UH IEEE, the student is able to have more opportunities in their professional career. There are gatherings designed specifically to introduce students to companies in the Houston and the surrounding areas. Our members are also more able to have more job opportunities through IEEE. Companies come to our organization to notify its members of possible internships because it is a student network that is an easy access to new employees.

Lastly, there are opportunities to provide leadership opportunities and involvement in this organization. Our officers are forming committees to get its members more involved. If you would like to be a part of UH IEEE and one of its committees then please visit our offices and fill out an application. If you are already a part of UH IEEE and want to join our committees then please contact us by email at uh.ieee@gmail.com.

Professor of the Year Poll Information
[X]

This poll will still be maintained to be completely anonymous even though the poll asks for your cougarnet and email. In no way will this poll disclose any information about yourself or your email.

We have an explanation of why and how we take your id and email and still make you completely anonymous. When you submit a vote, all of your information is taken and hashed (encrypted) so that none of the information is being disclosed. After the information is encrypted there is no way to decrypt the information.

The reason why we do the polls in this manner is simply because of the problems with fraudulent voting. When you submit your vote, it will first check if the encrypted version of your id has been submitted before. If it has, then it will not let you vote and it will notify you that someone has already voted in your name.

If you have any questions or comments then please send an email to jmkovitz@uh.edu, the website designer and programmer. He is responsible for the poll and can answer all of your questions about the poll.
